[Client Review] Getting a Green Card Through NIW Advanced-Degree Immigration
Published: 2025.01.14
Hello
Last winter we got through the embassy interview safely, and all three of us in the family were issued immigrant visas
We actually started preparing for NIW much longer ago, but big events like marriage and childbirth came in the middle, so our response on document preparation was slow and
it ended up taking quite a while.
There was nothing difficult about the process at all; we only had to prepare the required documents exactly as MCC guided us.
A bit embarrassing to admit, but even now I do not really know what I-140 or DS-260 are.
In my case I prepared with a doctorate in electrical and electronic engineering, over 10 years at a semiconductor design company, and a record of papers and patents,
and for the recommendation letters I was able to get help, since I had ongoing collaboration with a company in the U.S.
If anything, I was so nervous before the interview that I worried about making a mistake, but thanks to the mock interview MCC ran for me I was able to go in
feeling light. The questions came out at about the level they had told me in the mock interview, so it went smoothly.
Confirming the names of my spouse and myself
Whether I had ever stayed more than a year in a country other than the U.S. or Korea
My highest level of education and my major
Specific questions about what I do at my current job
Whether I had received a Job Offer in the U.S.
Whether I had completed military service
Those were the kinds of questions
If only I had not been lazy I could probably have gotten the green card faster, but still, my thanks to everyone at
MCC who helped me on the NIW side over such a long period.
People around me often ask for a company recommendation, and I introduce them here without hesitation.
I really do think this is the most sincere and most thorough place there is.
Thank you.
